Hamilton Cottage, Tain, is a detached sandstone self catering cottage ideal for couples looking for a rural hideaway.
Built in 1823 on the original estate which encompassed what is now Arabella Holdings, it has traditional charm combined with up to date style and convenience. Set on one level, the cottage comprises a double bedroom, shower room and an open plan living area where there is a modern kitchen. The luxurious leather sofa in the living room converts to a double bed if required.
Tastefully refurbished, the cottages style is clean and contemporary whilst retaining the feel of the traditional cottage at its heart with deep set windows, vaulted wood ceilings and wood floors. There is a controllable electric heating and hot water system. There is also an open fire for those chilly evenings and cosy winter nights.
Outside the front of the cottage there is a small area of garden leading to a parking/seating area. Adjoining this is a good sized grassed area sheltered by trees, garden furniture - a table and chairs for two to relax are provided in the cottages large shed for you to use along with a gas barbeque.
High quality bed linen and towels are provided along with a good range of household essentials. Electricity is included in the price of Hamilton Cottage along with logs, kindling and 25kg of coal for the open fire. So there's no additional charges to come as a surprise.
On arrival at the cottage you will be greeted with a welcome pack consisting of everything you will need to make yourself at home right away including a fresh loaf of organic home made bread and eggs from our own free range, organically kept free range hens/ducks.
Hamilton Cottage is situated in Arabella Holdings, a secluded working farm surrounded by woodland. This means that it is very quiet (apart from the occasional sound of our happy hens and their rooster) with no traffic on the single track roads around it, other than the very few residents of the holdings (this does include a working farm, so there may be an occasional tractor!)
Located between the Dornoch and Moray Firths the local area offers beautiful unspoilt beaches, coastal walks and an abundance of wildlife. In addition there are unrivalled opportunities for hill walking, fishing, golf and general sightseeing. There are beautiful, award winning, sandy beaches close by and the Easter Ross area is steeped in history with ancient pictish sites close at hand.
