Carrron Cottage
A beautiful detached cottage sleeping six, just over a mile from the village of Ardgay, which enjoys stunning views of the river Carron.

Carron Cottage offers everything you need for a rural retreat in the Highlands. Hillwalkers will be in their element, with spectacular trails leading right from your front door, as well as the whole Sutherland area within easy reach. It is also in the perfect location for salmon fishing on the extensive Gledfield beat, and while fishing must be booked additionally, residents at Carron Cottage receive priority access. The coast too is a short drive away, with the nearby Dornoch Firth boasting sheltered sandy beaches and even the chance to spot dolphin in the waters.

The cottage sleeps six over three bedrooms and has a secure garden, making it an ideal base for bringing your four-legged friends for an active break.

The recently refurbished cottage is decorated in a traditional Scottish style, and is warm and comfortable throughout. The first floor comprises a light and airy living space, with a cosy open log fire and Smart TV with a DVD player. The kitchen-diner is the perfect place for sociable mealtimes, and is well-equipped with a double electric range oven, grill, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. One of the comfortable twin rooms is on this floor, as is a separate WC and the utility room for muddy boots and paws.

A further twin room and the double room are found upstairs, alongside the family bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. Wifi is also included as standard.

Outside, the private front garden is a real sun trap, with beautiful river views to enjoy. What's more, an outbuilding is home to the cottage's very own sauna, the perfect way to relax and unwind after adventurous days on the hills.

Gledfield Gate Lodge

This attractive lodge on the Gledfield Estate, near the village of Ardgay, is the perfect base to explore Sutherland and the rest of the Highlands. It is fantastic for walking holidays, with endless hill and river trails in the area, including on the estate itself. The River Carron runs through the estate, offering lovely riverside strolls and fishing. It's also within easy reach of the coast, with sheltered sandy beaches and a particularly sunny microclimate on the Dornoch Firth. The cottage sleeps four over two bedrooms and has a secure garden, making it an ideal base for dog-owners.

The lodge is cosy and traditional, both inside and out, and has been newly refurbished. All built on the same floor with a spacious living room with an open fire, complete with fireguard, and a choice of sofas and armchairs. It's a great place to relax with a book for the afternoon or spend a cosy evening with the Smart TV for entertainment. The kitchen/diner is well-equipped, with a family dining table and plenty of food prep space. It is home to an electric double oven and hob, a microwave, kettle and toaster. There are two bedrooms, one a double and one a twin, and a spacious shower room. Wifi is included as standard.

Outside, there is a safe, enclosed walled garden with lawns and mature shrubs. There is ample parking on the private drive. Plus, there is access to the hill behind the house from the drive.
