Greenbank Farm House is a beautiful early 17th-century Lakeland retreat set high above the Cartmel Valley, with far-reaching countryside views and a peaceful setting within the Lake District National Park. This much-loved family home combines historic character with the comforts of a luxury country escape and is within walking distance of the celebrated village of Cartmel.
The farmhouse offers seven individually styled bedrooms alongside spacious living areas designed for families and groups to spend time together. Bedrooms 1 and 7 feature super king-size beds which can be configured as twins on request for an additional charge. Guests can also relax in the TV lounge with Smart TV and board games, while outside there are private garden and woodland, a seven-seat hot tub, patio with Weber gas BBQ, fire pit terrace and private woodland to explore.
Greenbank Farm is home to magnificent Friesian black horses and is at the heart of The Friesian Experience, a Friesian horse sanctuary run by the family. Guests can pre-book exclusive experiences with the horses, including meaningful on-the-ground interactions and therapeutic sessions in the Horse Friendship Barn. As this is a working farm, the horses continue their normal daily routines and guests may see both horses and visitors coming and going during their stay.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome for an additional charge, with countryside walks and private woodland directly from the property. Dogs must remain on a lead around the farm due to the horses and other livestock. A range of bespoke extras can also be arranged in advance, including private chef experiences, artisan food and meal deliveries, additional housekeeping and professional photography sessions.
