Carriage Cottage is a beautifully presented countryside retreat at Greenbank Farm, a historic working farm in the Lake District National Park. Offering privacy, character and peaceful surroundings, the cottage has its own garden, parking and outdoor space, with private woodland and countryside walks available directly from the doorstep.

Designed as a relaxing retreat for two, Carriage Cottage features a cosy wood-burning stove, with an initial basket of logs provided, and a private enclosed garden for enjoying morning coffee or an evening drink. Guests can also add exclusive use of the cottage's private four-seat Aquasolus hot tub for an additional charge, providing a relaxing place to unwind after exploring the Lake District.

Greenbank Farm is home to magnificent Friesian black horses and is at the heart of The Friesian Experience Sanctuary. Guests can pre-book exclusive on-the-ground experiences with the horses, including private Meet the Horses Tours and meaningful sessions within the Friesian Horse Friendship Barn. Horse riding is not offered, and the working yards and livestock areas of the farm remain private unless an Experience has been pre-booked.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome for an additional charge, with private woodland and countryside walks to enjoy together. Dogs must remain on a lead around the farm because of the horses and other livestock, and guests should be aware that the cottage garden, although enclosed, is not guaranteed to be dog-proof. Pre-bookable EV charging is also available, while optional extras can include private chef experiences, artisan food and meal deliveries, professional photography and tailor-made activity recommendations.

Across the shared farm driveway is Greenbank Farm House, a luxury 17th-century Lakeland farmhouse sleeping up to 14 guests across seven bedrooms, with private gardens, woodland and a seven-seat hot tub. The two properties have their own entrances and private outdoor areas and may be occupied independently, but subject to availability they can also be booked together, making Greenbank Farm an excellent option for larger families or groups who would like additional private accommodation for a couple.
