One Bayhead, (Ceann a Bhaigh in gaelic), offers 2 beautiful holiday apartments on the stunning Isle of Harris, on the West Coast of Scotland. One Bayhead sleeps up to 12 people so is perfect for a holiday or mini break with family or friends.
One Bayhead is a new build property consisting of two mirror image apartments named "Riverside" and "Tobson", each of which has 2 bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a sofa bed that sleeps two. The apartments can either be rented jointly, for a larger gathering, or individually for smaller groups.
The house was completed in 2019 to the highest quality standards, utilising renewable energy technologies (air-source heat pumps) to ensure thermal comfort all year long.
Each apartment has:
1 double bedroom with king size bed , dressing room, en-suite bathroom with jazucci bath and balcony with sea view, 1 twin bedroom with two single beds, shower room (shower, toilet and sink) upstairs and wet room (also with sink and toilet) downstairs.
There is a sofa bed in spacious landing upstairs (separate from living room) and baby's cot/crib, a living/dining room with log burning stove and TV with patio doors to outside decking and dining area, inside has a fully equiped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and child's highchair.
In addition, there is a large shared space between the two apartments which contains a washing machine, tumble dryer, cleaning equipment and freezer for each apartment. There is Wifi throughout.
Outside the house, guests can relax in our wood burning hot tub with views out to Roneval (South Harris' highest point), enjoy alfresco dining using our stone built BBQ and outside seating. Guests can fish or simply relax around our beautiful fresh water loch or perhaps relax (or run around after the many wild rabbits!) in the extensive garden.
Whether you want to spend your holiday relaxing in our hot tub, curled up with a book by the open fire, fishing on our private Loch na Criadhach or pursuing more energic activities One Bayhead is the perfect retreat for you and your family and friends.

One Bayhead is located in a beautifully rugged and secluded part of the Isle of Harris, on lands that have been in the family for over 200 years. Born and brought up here, John returned to his birthplace upon retirement to lovingly self build (with the help and support of his wife Norma!) this modern and comfortable home.
There are three ports of entry to take you to the Isle of Harris with ferries operated by Caledonian MacBrayne, travelling seven days a week between:
Uig, Isle of Skye to Tarbert, Isle of Harris
Ullapool on the north-west coast mainland to Stornoway, Isle of Lewis
Berneray, in the Sound of Harris to Leverburgh, Isle of Harris
Your car can be taken on board all three ferries but you will need to book well in advance, particularly during Easter and the summer months.
The nearest airport is Stornoway Airport, 50 miles away. Loganair operate flights seven days a week to Stornoway from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness.
There are connecting flights to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness from the rest of the world.
