Barns Tower, Neidpath Castle, Peebles, is a fairy tale, dusty pink tower that dates back to the 15th century, and provides the perfect self catering romantic escape. It is something of a hidden gem, in a secluded setting, just a stone's throw from the River Tweed. Inside, there are lots of gorgeous original features and special touches to make your stay complete.
Barns Tower has a magical atmosphere, so it may come as no surprise to discover that the area is steeped in legend and storytelling. It is said that Merlin the Wizard once visited Stobo Kirk, just over the hill. The famous author, John Buchan, came from this area and one of his greatest novels, 'John Burnet of Barns' is set very recognisably right here.
All year round, Barns Tower looks amazing - whether it is glowing softly in the peaceful calm of a summer's evening, or drawing you towards a freshly made log fire on a snowy winter's day. The vaulted ceiling, and rustic wooden panelling give the rooms an irresistibly cosy feel. And after the day's adventures, what could be better than a long soak in the roll top bath, and the promise of a delightfully sound sleep in the huge, pillowy sleigh bed. It's a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion.
To welcome you to your own private retreat at Barns Tower, you will find a delicious Breakfast Hamper, as well as a selection of gorgeous products from The Highland Soap Company. The log fires are ready to be lit for your arrival...
