Haggs Bank Bunkhouse & Campsite, Nentsberry is set in the stunning location of the North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and England's first UNESCO Geopark, this area is known as England's Last Wilderness.

The North Pennines has a vibrant history of lead mining as a result of its amazing landscape. Haggs Bank Bunkhouse was originally part of this industry, being a mine shop and forge for the miners to rest their heads and mend their tools between shifts underground.

Today, Haggs Bank Bunkhouse offers travellers a friendly welcome within a warm, renovated building with a touring site with electric hook-ups and the adjoining campsite in our wild flower meadow offers an option to get even closer to nature!

The whole site has been created to help keep our environmental footprint to a minimum. Haggs Bank have their own private spring water supply and treatment plant to make sure any water leaving their site after they've used it is of the highest quality. The building has superb insulation to keep it toastie warm all year round! Haggs Bank are currently applying for their Green Tourism award.

Ideally located on the C2C cycle route and a stop of for those walking the pennine way and Issacs Tea Trail..

There are local waterfalls and scenic routes to explore the surrounding countryside, as well as enjoy star gazing under our famous dark skies.

The nearest towns are Penrith, Carlisle and Hexham, there is no local transport to the area, so your own transport is required.
