To think of Conwy you must also think of Conwy Castle, a magnificent fortress built from 1283-7 by Edward 1, the castle forms part of the same defensive system as the extensive town walls which are among the most complete in Europe. In Conwy you will also find the smallest house in Britain, just 6ft wide and 10ft high, it is furnished in the style of a mid-victorian Welsh cottage. For the garden lover, there is Bodnant Garden at Tal-Y-Cafn, set above the River Conwy with beautiful views over Snowdonia. Five Italian style terraces were constructed below the house, on the lowest terrace is a canal pool with an open-air yew hedge stage and a reconstructed Pin Mill.
