Description

Craigrowan was originally built as a shepherd's cottage in the early 1970s which we renovated in 2001, with the additional bed and breakfast accommodation being added in 2004. This consists of three letting rooms with en-suite facilities, comprising of one twin and one double room downstairs, both with power showers and one double room upstairs with a traditional bathroom. The guest dining room and TV lounge is welcoming and spacious and looks over the garden directly on to Loch Scridain and the mountains beyond. A beautiful staircase leads you to the upstairs lounge where plenty of books, magazines and games are available to make your stay even more enjoyable. Sit, relax and take in the spectacular, ever changing views of Ben More, the highest mountain on the island, or perhaps step out onto the balcony and absorb the peace and tranquillity of Mull. If you want to keep in touch with the outside world, we offer a free wi-fi Internet connection. If the weather is bad, the lounges are available throughout the day to spend watching waterfalls, reading, relaxing or just snoozing!

It's all yours to enjoy!

Location

Craigrowan is a modern, idylically situated four star bed and breakfast, and is Mull's only listing in 'Scotland's Best Bed and Breakfasts'. Set above the shores of Loch Scridain overlooking Ben More and the village of Pennyghael, it is ideally situated to explore Mull and Iona. The house is set in its own private garden surrounded by an established beech forest, a habitat to many wild birds, red deer and woodland flowers. Craigrowan is easily reached by road or public transport, situated on the A849 some 21 miles from Craignure on the main road to Iona.

We aim to make your stay with us a memorable one and we are happy to book various trips for you, including trips to the Isle of Staffa, whale watching, or a day spotting golden or sea eagles. Just let us know and we will make the necessary arrangements. If you have a particular interest, we will endeavour to find out more for you locally. Why not escape to the shores of Loch Scridain for an evening stroll - otters, seals and deer are often seen nearby. Even just taking a drive around Mull, you will see deer grazing, and if you are lucky enough, you might even stumble across a wild goat or two! A visit to the Isle of Iona is a must. Iona is a beautiful unspoilt island with many white sandy beaches. It is steeped in history and has an abundance of wild flowers and is home to the very rare corncrake - often heard, very rarely seen!
