An area of outstanding beauty, located on Scotlands East coast. The rugged coastline of Angus opens into scenic glens and the fertile Valley of Strathmore. The largest town in Angus is Arbroath, world famous for its Smokies (smoked fish) and a traditional seaside resort with a beautiful harbour. Also on the East coast lies Montrose with its spectacular setting overlooking a two-mile wide tidal lagoon - a wildlife sanctuary of international importance. There are lots of attractions to visit when coming to Angus and Dundee including The Sensation Science Centre, Glamis Castle, world famous golf courses, stunning formal gardens so be sure to give yourself plenty of time. If you are looking to travel around lesser-known areas of Scotland, then Edzell is definately a great place to start. On arriving here, it is difficult to tell that this beautiful little village really is not as old as it looks. Built as late as 1839, alot of the buildings are still quite new though the nearby Edzell Castle is much older than that. Edzell is reached easily by road and is situated about six miles north of Brechin.
