Some of the most beautiful stretches of the Ulster Way are just a short distance from Larne town.Sailing is a popular sport in Larne, and berths are available from the East Antrim Boat Club in Larne Lough, Glenarm Harbour, Carnlough Harbour and Ballylumford Harbour. The mudflats of Larne Lough are a haven for birdwatchers and Swan Island in the centre of the Lough is internationally recognized for its importance as a nesting site, particularly for the rare Roseate Tern. Disabled riders are welcome at The Rainbow Equestrian Centre in Islandmagee which is a recognized Riding for the Disabled facility.
