Nethergong Camping

Nethergong Camping in Kent

Glamping Site nestled in a beautiful valley in East Kent
Go Glamping in Canterbury with Nethergong. The site is perfect for both families and couples with a wide variety of locations, including spots away from it all. Bell tents, shepherd huts, wagons and vintage caravans can sleep 2 adults and 1-3 children each.

We have a two-acre wood with tall, evenly-spaced poplar trees and grass underfoot. In addition we have several grassed camping areas, including the First Field, the Fruit Trees, the Carp Lake and the New Duck Pond. Some areas can be let exclusively to groups of families dependent on availability and numbers.

One of our most popular areas is either side of our shallow Frog Pond, populated by many marsh and common frogs, toads, dragon flies and damselflies and the odd grass snake! The frog pond is suitable for pond dipping and paddling and nets can always be found in our shop (our best seller).

Our bell tents are situated in our orchard area snuggled between the plum trees or in our main camping field. Each tent is set up with a double and two single campbeds with self-inflating mattresses. (let us know if you need a third single or only one single). All are furnished in Indian style with braided rugs, footstools and Indian bedside tables. Each has an awning for more shade or shelter if needed. We ask for no outdoor shoes in the tent please.

Our beautiful family Shepherd's Huts easily sleep a family of five with a double bed, single bunk and a double sofa bed. It comes complete with a wood-burning stove for chillier evenings and indoor table and seating. The canvas awning is perfect for shade and shelter for outside cooking on our camping grill or BBQ. The Shepherd's Hut comes fully-equipped with all the kitchen and cooking equipment you will need.

Our authentic Romany Showman's Wagon has been built by a local Romany to faithfully replicate wagons used as showmen travelled from fayre to fayre. The wagons were slept in, cooked in and lived in although we think that might be a bit of a squash for today's camper so we have provided the wagon with its own hut, for indoor cooking, eating and sitting if needed. The super king size bed in the wagon does convert back to table and bench seating if you prefer to sit there.
It easily sleeps a couple and a small child and we can provide a camp bed for additional sleeping in the hut if needed. It also has a small wood burning stove in it to keep the evenings warm. The wagon is situated in its own glade at the end of an avenue of trees and against the riverbank. There is a wonderful view across the valley to the hamlet of Chislet.

Children are free to roam through the woods and glades, play on our tyre swings and make dens and friends. Our portable firepits make great campfires for toasting marshmallows and our resident frogs, ducks and swans are happy to cohabit with our visitors!

Our one-acre Carp Lake can be fished by Glampers and is not open to the public.

With on site activities such as boating, table tennis, bushcraft and yoga, and a wood fired pizza oven, small on site coffee shop and store there really is something for everyone at Nethergong.

Make Nethergong Camping your next Glamping hliday destination and enjoy all that Canterbury has to offer.
